SRD Requests New Funding for Strathcona Gardens REC-REATE Project
The SRD is preparing a second grant application request with the Canada-British Columbia Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, to offset costs for the REC-REATE project, the redevelopment of Strathcona Gardens.

Cortes Island Wildfire Protection Plan and Evacuation Plan Survey Now Available
Cortes Island residents and property owners can now share their opinions on the Cortes Island Community Wildfire Protection Plan and Evacuation Plan survey which is available online and will also be mailed to property owners later this week.
Strathcona Gardens Recreation Complex – Gradual Restart Plan Update
The SRD is excited to be gradually welcoming patrons back to its recreational facility over the upcoming months. At a July 22 Commission meeting, staff received direction on reopening further services at Strathcona Gardens, while a difficult decision was made to delay the September opening of the Arena #2 ice rink.
Tsunami Modelling Project Awarded for the Northwest Coast of Vancouver Island
The SRD in partnership with the Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k:tles7et’h’ First Nations and Nuchatlaht First Nation are funding high-resolution tsunami modelling for the northwest coast of Vancouver Island from Yuquot / Muchalaht Inlet to Cape Scott Provincial Park.

Hoskyn Channel Dock Maintenance takes place this Weekend

SRD Community Broadband Plans Now Available Online
The SRD hosted Community Broadband Planning forums in June of 2019 where seven communities within the regional district were visited throughout a two-week block.

The exposed sewer outfall pipe repair project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the July.
